WHO: The imPort defense group!
WHERE: The football field at Xavier's.
WHEN: Evening of October 1st.
WHAT: Discussing things.
WARNINGS: None.
[On Monday evening, a notice goes out via the communicators about a meeting on Wednesday night. For the most part, it's without ceremony, sans some cited complications in procuring a meeting place for their discussions. The meeting place is given an address, along with directions for them to enter through the normal place to enter, rather than through the school or anything like that.
Jean is sitting outside with Kanaya, and there are various types of snack food and beverages set out, along with mini plates and plastic cups. There isn't an agenda, exactly, but the two of them do seem to want to keep this organized.
Once everyone has seated, they step forward to begin ensuring that things go as fluidly as possible. Or as much as they can before things need to start really being discussed.]

Everyone, we need to know where your talents lie and what you'd like to see with this organization, along with your name. Keep it brief.

I'm Jean Kirstein of the 104th training regiment back home, and a member of Captain Levi's squad. I specialize in three dimensional gear fighting, which grants me the ability to fight in midair.
[While he has some other talents, he chooses to keep them to himself.]
[ Once Jean is done, Kanaya speaks up, already in her native form. It's only proper that she meets this business with her best face. She has a notebook out, taking notes as she goes along, though so far she really only has the two of them written in it so far.
Having it written reminds her that she has no idea what his powers are. She'll have to ask him later, for bookkeeping. ]
And I'm Kanaya Maryam, I've been an imPort for three years. In that time I've fought demons, monsters, and many other super-powered threats. I'm a vampire and a manipulator of Space, which is useful both in evacuating civilians and accommodating the quick response of this team.

Header: Events to help at
[As they press on, Jean looks weary. One of the main points of contention between him and Kanaya happened to be chains of command, and he's still not completely satisfied with any of it. To top it off, he's had to rethink some of his perspective on that thanks to some circumstances back home.
Having to confront that again, especially in front of all these people, is, for lack of a better word, exhausting.]
The main goal for our group is to focus on imPort-related events and protect both imPorts and this world's citizens at them. We're not going to be able to respond to every call, but if we're prepared to act, it will at least grant every imPort event an on-call task force that's designed to keep everyone safe. We want to limit casualties if we can help it, as anyone who's causing the casualties will be able to provide us with information. [He looks over everyone.] It's not that we doubt the government, but they don't have the strengths that we have. I don't know how much advance information we'll have, but that might be something we can work on.
[Besides, having groups that could provide advance information was one such duty for the Survey Corps. He figures they can apply it here.]
